Welcome to my new website, Quillan Sculpture Gallery, TurtlesandFrogs

2007 has been a great year, with lots of new designs I hope you will enjoy and of course, good health. Several new galleries have chosen my artwork to represent in their locations and everyone here is working their best to make sure everyone has what they need to represent my sculptures, while at the same time informing their clients on what they can do to help our environment. From the small creatures of the Rain Forest, the squirming little sea turtle hatchlings around the earth, the whales in our oceans, to the public parks in our neighborhoods, we can all do something, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to make our home, mother earth, a better place to live.

All of us at Quillan Sculpture are looking for our own special projects. Here in Temecula, just North of San Diego, we are working on making sure a rock quarry won’t be built that will severely effect the air we breath as well as crowd our highways with more truck traffic and pollution. We are also concerned about encroachment of our beautiful Santa Rosa Plateau, a place we love to hike and view the wildlife in and around its vernal pools. Another project I have worked on for the last couple of years, doesn’t have anything to do with saving endangered creatures or the fight against global warming, but in helping disadvantaged kids, some with cancer, through ARTS (A Reason To Survive) a non-profit in the San Diego area.

Can one person really make a difference?
Yes, one person can. You have in your power what it takes. It doesn’t take a dream, it takes making a decision.

* One vote made Thomas Jefferson President in 1800. * One vote in 1776 determined Americans would speak English instead of German. * One person brought down the Nixon administration. * Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Einstein, Rosa Parks, Lincoln are examples of people who made decisions and changed our world for the better. *And of course, one man, Jesus, gave his life to change the world forever.

For most of us, no one will know what we did, but our efforts are no less noble. My heroes are people who are not as well known, but have made differences in our world by making a decision to help others, whether it is endangered creatures, helpless children or our deteriorating environment. My heroes are people like Dr Archie Carr (the father of Sea Turtle research), Ed Begley Jr. (teaching us how to be Green), Steve Irwin (who made animal conservation fun), Dr Roger Payne (Whales & their songs), Barbara and Christopher Hoar (promoting adoption for orphaned African Children), Jacques and Philipe Cousteau (Our personal Oceanographers) and my friend Matt D'Arrigo (A Reason To Survive). My other heroes are my kids and step kids, my wife and of course my parents who stood by me, picked me up at times, but most often waited patiently for me to figure out how to get up on my own.

I hope that you find my artwork fun and full of love, and that you may find something on my website that inspires you.
